It happens in the middle of the afternoon at 3 p.m. on Southwest 6th Street at Southwest Avenue C. There have been no arrests in that incident. The city of Clewiston has been fining the US Postal Service for parking lot potholes at the post office. The city says they’ve asked them to fix these potholes for months. They say they will and nothing gets done. The fine is $75 per day and a $100 administrative fee. Mario Miranda says potholes can damage your car. And this is like the third time they never been to court. It’s last time they just pour some first dirt and then I went back I said this is not gonna cut it. You know those are dangerous those are like five inches deep. Those are those are tire bumpers. Chelsea Gosa says this has gone on too long. They were going to fix it they put combs and stuff but as of right now we haven’t seen any progress. Glades County Commissioners approved a rezoning in Lakeport of six acres for a commercial RV park. The 31 acre property is being used as a coffee farm. It’s a 2134 Old Lakeport Road. There had been some concern about the density. The applicant Matt Davis says he only wants a handful of RV sites. He says it’s a successful business. I’m in the business to make money just like every other farmer and beef guy that’s in this county and I would love to have people be able to come stay on my property get up and do a tour the next morning have a fresh cup of coffee of extremely fresh roasted coffee and see the place enjoy it and then leave. County Commissioner Hattie Taylor says she believes Davis will keep his promises. I believe that he only wants a few campers. I can’t see him as as nice of a place as it is. I can’t see him wanting to mess that up with RV 50-something RVs. There was no public opposition at the public hearing. Davis says he’s currently working with the University of Florida to create education opportunities at the coffee farm. He also thinks it’ll attract tourists. The South Bay City Commissioner approved a bid with Coastal Network Solutions to provide information technology services. Councilmember Barbara King says she wanted commissioners to have input and not allow staff alone to decide on which firm to hire. She alleges that staff is running all the contracts and running the city not the Commission. The Commission didn’t get a chance to look at all the bids so that we can decide what’s best for the city. So the decision was made by this staff? Yes. Okay, thank you. A worker was treated for injuries after falling out the back of a trailer at the shipping dock at Okee Lanta on US 27 in Belle Glade. The man from Harrisburg, North Carolina suffered arm and leg injuries. He was taken to Lakeside Medical Center for treatment. I’m Charles Murphy, WAFC News.
