Pahokee looking at ways to remove hogs from damaging the Port Myakka Cemetery. An exterior fence would be too expensive. They’re looking at sound wave devices that disturb hogs and discourage them from entering property. City Manager Brenda Bryant says in her opinion there are three ways to solve the hog problem. Make a ditch around the cemetery so that the hogs will not get to the cemetery. And then the person that will come will come and take the hogs away once they fall into the ditch. A 44-year-old Clewiston man is facing charges of aggravated battery on the elderly, domestic battery by strangulation, resisting arrest and misdemeanor battery. He allegedly was causing a disturbance at a Clewiston residence, destroying the inside of the home and struck the victim, a 45-year-old female. Deputies say Jorge Marquez surrendered to them without problem, but then started to tighten his muscles and woefully pulled away from them as they tried to handcuff him. EMS treated Marquez at the scene for lacerations to his face and shoulders. I’m Charles Murphy, WAFC News.
