Woman Found Dead Floating in Lake Park

A family and a group of friends are in mourning today, as a two-day search ended on November 4, for 34-year-old Denise Ford. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the young woman was reported missing on November 2 by her family. The report says she left on foot, leaving behind her belongings. A warning, the next portion of this story may be difficult for some to read: At 8:35 on the morning of November 4, PBSO deputies responded to a report of a body floating in the 700 block of Venice Circle, Lake Park. After further investigation, the body is believed to be that of Denise Ford. No foul play is suspected.

Muck Bowl Saturday

The annual showdown of the Muck Bowl between the Glades Central Raiders and the Pahokee Blue Devils is taking place on the Blue Devils turf November 6th at 5 PM. The contest returns to the Glades this year, after being held in Wellington in 2020, due to COVID-19 protocols. Emmanuel Hendrix, head coach for the Blue Devil says, last year’s competition was one thing, having a young and inexperienced team; but this year? Hendrix says, this year, is something totally different, and they are ready for the win. Pahokee will face the 5-4 Raiders with their 6-1 record tomorrow. Tickets to the game are sold out.

Agriculture Industry Speaks Out

The House Agriculture Committee met Wednesday. In attendance were agriculture interests, grocers, and truckers, who went before congress with complaints about supply chains. Growers are seeing increases in production costs due to the pandemic. Jon Schwalls of Southern Valley Fruits and Vegetables serves the Southeast. He says the increases in prices, are higher than ever.  Independent grocers asked for reform.  They say they have been at a disadvantage to large grocery chains in Florida and other states. Ed Cinco says consumers are not only paying more, but they have to travel further. Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County is searching for Antonio Milian. His last known address is Doveland Dr., Pahokee. He is wanted for a violation of probation on battery charges. If you have any information on the whereabouts of Antonio Milian, contact Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County.

Boil Water Notice

A precautionary boil water notice has been issued for City of Moore Haven residents and business, with the exception of GEO Correctional Facility, Glades County Sheriff’s Department, Loves Travel Stop, Emergency Management Services, and the Glades County Health Department. As a precaution, all other jurisdictions are advised to boil water used for drinking or cooking, or use bottled water as an alternative. This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect for the City of Moore Haven until further notice.
