The Palm Beach County School District kicked off a series of meal kit distributions at 16 of its schools yesterday, ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. Each parent received nine bags of meals and nine bags of snacks filled with lunch and breakfast items. According to the district, 64% of students currently are enrolled for food assistance in school, which is part of the reason meal distributions around the holidays are needed. On November 10, 2021, one of the three victims who was shot during a block party in Pahokee, died from his injuries.  Thirty-one year old D’Joshua Johnson was from Greenacres. Crimestoppers of Palm Beach County is now seeking the publics assistance in solving this homicide. According to spokesperson Teri  Barbera, the agency is offering up to 3,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Citizens are asked to contact CrimeStoppers with any information.

The Grand Opening of the Harlem Community Garden schedule to take place this morning has been postponed. Due to the threat of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled. Additional information will be provided once a new date and time are set. 

Governor Ron DeSantis was joined by Florida Speaker Chris Sprowls and Senate President Wilton Simpson to sign legislation that will protect Floridians from losing their jobs due to COVID-19 vaccine mandates and, protect parents’ rights to make healthcare decisions for students.
