Arguably the biggest topic on last nights agenda was, who would fill the vacancy left on the panel by Melanie McGehees resignation. Well, we caught up with the chosen one. You may know her though as Hilary Hyslope. Hilary is the director for the Chamber of Commerce her in Clewiston, and has been an important and valuable force for agriculture, small business and community partnerships for some time now. Commissioner Hyslope says she is looking forward to serving the city in her new roll and he is excited about the potential of Clewiston.

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood yesterday for the residents, council members and everyone who showed up at Harlem Community Tree Park. Representatives from US Sugar, Clewiston High School, Florida Community Health Centers and others, came out to show support. Local community members and business owners were able to sponsor a park bench donned with a beautiful nameplate attached to the polished wood, built by our very own Clewiston High School students. Janet Taylor, who is part of the Improvement Council was all smiles at the event, which was streamed live on Facebook. Taylor says this is the type of project that manifest through partnership and the community coming together. She is proud and thankful, to all the contributed to making this happen.
