As of the latest report for covid-19 positive cases for Hendry County, the Department of Health reports 1838 residents that have tested positive since testing began in March. Moore Haven now has 410. Testing is still being done in the County and surrounding areas including Harlem Civic Center Sunday, August 23rd 1:00pm – 5:00pm. No appointment needed. Children over 5yrs tested with Parental Consent. Glades County Health Department Saturday, August 15th 8:30am – 11:30am.

Glades County is able to give its residents more financial relief, thanks to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. Financial assistance is being provided to assist citizens of Glades County with rental, mortgages and utilities. The application period for funds is open now through December 10, 2020 or until all funds have been expended. Applications will be available on-line by visiting https://www.myglades.com/public_notices.php or calling (863)946-6125 for assistance.

As families prepare for the start of school, the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics in Belle Glade are encouraging parents to schedule physicals for their children. The clinics pediatric director reminds parents of children who are due to receive vaccinations to schedule an appointment by calling 561-642-1000.

Crime Stoppers of PBC is searching for Joshua Spraul. Spraul has no known address on record, but he is wanted for Burglary during a state of emergency, petit theft, and for failure to appear on the charges of carrying a concealed weapon, driving with a suspended license, and attaching an unassigned tag.  Glacier was found several weeks ago in the Montura Community very badly injured. The dog was brought to Gulf Coast Humane Society and diagnosed with a severe skin infection eating away at her white coat. The Humane Society announced, she has been adopted. While at the HS, Glacier was named an Honorary Deputy Dog with the Lee County Sheriffs Office. The staff at the Humane Society say Glacier will be sorely missed but she will be a success story they will remember forever.
